Loved it, it was one of the best alien love stories that I have read in a while. It has a really good plot and it's not just a story written so that there can be plenty of "alien sex." Believe the book blurb when in says it has a sweet romance, because it does. But maybe I should say "plot with an s" because there are a couple of things going on within the story. Not overwhelming but definitely kept my interest. Plenty of action keeps things going. The emotions in the book are also well done, I thought.The main characters were excellent with each carrying their own wounds. Fiona was one feisty though terrified at times woman. And she has reason to be. That came across really well in the story. Ardal truly was a person of honor, who is way over his head when it comes to being on Earth and feeling something for Fiona. Those feelings are confusing him almost as much as the Earth people and their ways. He is a leader though and for the most part does better than most. He also has a team of men who are interesting as well and I know some will have their story too. Good, because if the other books in the series is as good as this one, I want to continue reading them.
I liked how this book adventure came to a satisfying end with a way that the brotherhood of warriors/hunters are able to advance from here.

I wasn't sure about these books but it was $.99 so I thought I'd give it a try. A bunch of elite warriors known as hunters were on a spacecraft in space to be executed. But the leader Admar said that they would die with honor. So he escaped from his cell when they come to get him to execute him by sending him into space to suffocate. When they took over the spacecraft and killed most everybody there the captain of the ship shot the control panel so it was out of control. They crash land in Fiona's backyard. When she went to help all she could see in the dark with this giant man coming towards her and then Mormon started coming out. It was a total of over 200 men but I think only 150 made it. Fiona and Admar were pair bonds..The book was pretty good I was surprised I did go ahead and get the second one which is now up to 2.99 and there's a total of six books darn.
I liked the story though I do have questions that I hope will be answered by reading the rest of this series. Some of my questions are where are the surviving elders from the crash of 30 years ago and exactly how did they help advance earthly technology and where are the military, their search would be relentless after the incidents described in this book?
Of course, I was always rooting for Fiona and Ardal and would have loved more of the story. This book could have been longer and I hope that any governmental threat will be alleviated satisfactorily for all these honorable warriors.
There are lots of series where brides go to space for mates but this is the first I've seen where soon-to-be grooms crash land on Earth and for the second time in 30 years. I look forward to many more; after all, 150 hunky aliens survived the crash and I don't know how many survived the crash of 30 years previously. I would read every one. Lol
I liked this book and I feel strongly that the issues I have are me more than the book. The first half was engrossing, and I read it rapidly, then things slowed down, there was still a lot of action but I wasn't feeling it.
Fiona is an abused woman on the run from a man who wouldn't take no for an answer. When there is a crash on the farm she was renting, she went out to help. She's shocked to see that it wasn't a plane but a spaceship of some type. There are survivors and she quickly uses her medical knowledge to treat the injured. When she hears their story she knows they have to leave.
Ardal is the leader of a unit of Hunters who have been slated for termination. When he realizes that they don't have to blindly obey an order to be ejected into space, his men take over the ship with his help. When he meets Fiona, he is appreciative of her help and promises that he will care for her. But this is a new world to Ardal and he needs as much help as Fiona. They are running from the Canadian government, the police and if he hears about her Fiona's stalker. They have to start moving and keep on going until they can find a way to blend in.
I have already purchased the second book but haven't started reading it yet. As I wrote, I love the storyline, the world building is sketchy but since all the action happens on Earth, I can understand that, it may be that the personality of the Hunters is so robotic that I'm turned off. Read the free chapter and see what you think.
Have you ever read a book that instead of getting better and more exciting as you read it, it just gets bad, then worse then just not worth continuing with? Well this is that kind of book. Don't waste your time and money. The Hero is not bad but the heroine Fione is a pathetic damsel in distress. She whines, she gets hysterical, she's a scardy-cat and SUPER ANNOYING. Oh and if you are looking for romance or erotic, steamy moments, you will be kept waiting. I got to 81% of the book and so far nothing...who knows if that will even be part of the book. I'm too bored to continue and find out.
I found this book entertaining. It was a nice sci fi romance with a hot alpha male and a beautiful heroine. The romance was sweet but not very exciting. My biggest issue with the book was that there were disgusting men with ill intentions wherever they travelled. I mean come on how many evil men can you run into in one day? I just found it irritating. Also, the constant talk of honor became too repetitive. This book was just ok for me. I may read the next book in the series but I'm unsure.
