“How did you even get here?”
I blink at him, confused by his question. “We live here.”
“You live here, in these woods?”
When Kaiden stumbles across Serena Scott while hunting in Sorrow Woods he thinks all of his birthdays have come at once. Finally, the girl that’s haunted and intrigued him and his parents for the last fourteen years is standing in front of him.
And she’s alive.
Serena should have known that he would shatter her life into a thousand pieces. It wasn't because of the gun, or the tattoos that snaked around his arm, but because he was the first boy that she’d ever set eyes on.
He wasn’t just any boy either; he was Kaiden Matthews.
He was dark, dangerous and strangely alluring.
And he was beautiful.
Serena’s life as she knows it is destroyed after Kaiden drops his bombshell. As the consequences of his actions begin to penetrate through into her life she vows to stay away from him, and while she might have been in his past, she refuses to be his future.
Kaiden knows that in order for either of them to salvage anything from the mess he’s made he needs to make sure the secrets of his past stay hidden, but as they start to rebuild their lives they find themselves stuck in a whirlwind of secrets and confessions that could threaten to break their already fragile relationship.
Sorrow Woods eBook Beckie Stevenson
I struggled with how to rate this one. The first half of this book is one of the most fascinating stories I have ever read. Like Kaiden, I was completely immersed in Serena and Elodie's world. The writing style is so compelling, and the pace of the story is perfect. The progression of the sexual tension is also incredibly exciting, even when it's one sided. That is an astounding accomplishment on its own. The author created amazing chemistry between Kaiden and Serena right from the beginning. I realize now that part of that was due to what a unique character Serena was and how fascinated he was by her.Unfortunately, Serena later loses her uniqueness and becomes a regular girl in love. Considering the physical prowess she displayed in the first part of the story, I was expecting her to become an amazing athlete or to do something extraordinary. I still highly recommend this book for the thrilling first half of the story, but the end didn't fulfill the potential of these characters.

Sorrow Woods eBook Beckie Stevenson Reviews
I'm picky about the books that I read. I like to read books that draw me in; books were I become completely engrossed in the story and obsessed with the characters. The synopsis for "Sorrow Woods" by Beckie Stevenson caught my attention right away. Unfortunately, it failed to keep it.
The writing isn't particularly my favorite. It just didn't flow for me. From the very first page I could tell this book was not what I expected. I had a hard time finishing this book since I failed to connect or become interested enough with the characters to WANT to read the next chapter, let alone the next page.
They failed to capture my interest. They just didn't seem real;they were too flat, too boring, too...mundane? I don't know. I just didn't care what happened to Serena and Kaiden. I didn't care if they got together or not or if they were in any danger...I tried. Serena adjusted too easily to everything and was too perfect; Kaiden was just too BLAH. Does that make sense?
I really did try to finish this book in its entirety but after awhile, I just ended up reading snippets here and there until I finished in order to give an honest review.
I suggest reading the sample first and then deciding whether "Sorrow Woods" is somewhere you want to visit.
I'm sure some will love their time spent in "Sorrow Woods" but it's not a place I'll be visiting again.
Thank you for the advanced copy.
Great book. Very interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat!
This book I feel I'd very under rated! Many people should read this it's that good!! Beckie Stevenson wrote amazingly. I recommend reading this!
This book exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved the characters and the story line. I do wish there was more of Elodie.
Ok this story is a straight romance story but with a twist, love it this has a bit action, HEA ,romance and the chick is a strong female character but naive
WOW! BECKIE STEVENSON; WELL DONE GIRL!
Let me be the first to say that we will be hearing more of that name because this writing was off the charts good!
One thing that I have to say is that Beckie did an amazing job of naming these characters. The names well suited their personality so well and I admire that about an author to really know their characters THAT well.
Serena is easily one of my favorite heroines. She is brave, loving and SO STRONG! (physically and mentally) Kai had a beautiful transformation and the love that seeps through this book is so warming.
My only complaint is that I wish the epilogue was longer. The ending was quick for me.
Beckie just sent me the newest version which has the edited ending and it is AMAZING!!! She brought the entire book together so well!!!!
I don't think it needs another book to continue their story - but I would LOVE to get to know Elodie (her little sister) as she grows up and get a glimpse into how Serena matures as she gets older. I loved Elodie so much!
Easily put it on my favorites shelf.
I really enjoyed reading this story. The Hero was really the anti hero type. I just wish Kai had told Anastasia about the wolf, just to get that bully to see sense. I will reread this story.
